Teeth Whitening Questions

Serving Las Vegas, Summerlin, and Henderson, Nevada

Why should I go to a dentist to have my teeth whitened?
Only a professional cosmetic dentist can whiten your teeth so they appear brighter as well as natural.

What’s wrong with over-the-counter whitening products?
Over-the-counter products can cause streaks, unnecessary sensitivity and often leave teeth too bright and very unnatural-looking.

What types of professional whitening systems are available?
There are many different tooth whitening systems available to you. However, in order to receive the most natural, beautiful results, you should use the tooth whitening systems available at a cosmetic dentistry office like Dr. Bryson and Dr. Margio.

What is at-home tooth whitening?
This is when a custom-fit mouth tray is created just for you. You fill the tray with a special whitening gel, and wear the tray for a period of time, such as every night for a month.

What is in-office tooth whitening?
This is when a special whitening gel is applied to your teeth and then a dental laser is used to activate the gel and whiten the teeth. It takes about 45 minutes and can make your teeth up to eight shades whiter.

How long does the whitening last?
It depends on the type and degree of whitening used, and the specifics of your lifestyle, but generally your teeth will remain bright and healthy-looking for many years to come.

What about tooth sensitivity?
Generally, if you have your teeth whitened under the supervision of a cosmetic dentist, you will only experience minor sensitivity just for a few hours.

How much does tooth whitening cost?
It depends on the type and extent of whitening you desire. We can only give you an accurate price after we meet with you for an initial tooth whitening consultation. Please contact our Las Vegas cosmetic dentistry office for more information.
