When choosing a cosmetic dentist in the Las Vegas area, you have many options, and sometimes picking the right dentist can seem like an overwhelming process. You want someone with excellent qualifications and skills that you feel personally comfortable with. With that in mind, here are some common questions you should ask your dentist before committing to any procedures:
How long have you been practicing cosmetic dentistry?
There are no rules for how long is “long enough.” However, the important thing to remember here is that you want a dentist who is strictly a cosmetic dentist. Remember any general dentist can call himself a cosmetic dentist without taking any additional training other than the minimal requirement to be a general dentist. Patients need to do their homework and look for cosmetic dentists who are graduates of an advanced cosmetic training program– this is an additional degree beyond regular dental school. That is how they can be assured that the cosmetic dentist has the proper training and skills.

What is the procedure going to cost?
It is an unfortunate fact that dental and medical insurance does not typically cover all aspects of cosmetic dentistry procedures. It’s important to know exactly how much the procedure is going to cost, and what your financing options are.
We work closely with a company that offers a credit line for dentistry. In most cases, your payments can be spread out across time – sometimes up to five years. We even have financial plans that offer zero percent payment plans. Many of our patients take advantage of this service so that they can get all or their treatment completed and then pay affordable payments over time, rather than spread treatment out. What sort of qualifications do you have?
Not all cosmetic dental schools are the same. The nation’s pre-eminent dental school is the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies(LVI). If available, you want a dentist who has graduated from this school.
What cosmetic organizations do you belong to?
Drs. Bryson and Margio are both members of AACD ( American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry) which is an internationally renowned organization for the advanced study and education of cosmetic dentistry. Drs. Bryson and Margio attended the past 2011 meeting in Boston and were excited about all of the new developments in cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Bryson is one of a few Las Vegas dentists in the entire state of Nevada that is persuing his accreditation.
Do you love what you do?
Cosmetic dentistry is as much an art as it is a science. You want a dentist who is skilled in the science aspect, but also passionate for the artistic side, too. “I can’t imagine a more rewarding experience then restoring a patient’s smile back to its original beauty,” says Dr Margio.
Dr. Margio and Dr. Bryson have been practicing cosmetic dentistry together for over twenty years. It is truly their passion in life.
